How do you set up call waiting on a landline phone?
Call waiting is a convenient feature that allows you to receive a second call while you're already on the phone. To set up call waiting on a landline phone, follow these steps:
- Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
- Press *70 on the keypad. This will activate the call waiting feature.
- Listen for the confirmation tone, which will indicate that call waiting has been successfully activated.
- Hang up the receiver. Call waiting is now set up on your landline phone.
When you're on the phone and receive a second call, you will hear a beep indicating that someone is calling. You can then put the first call on hold and answer the second call by pressing the flash button on your phone or by pressing the receiver button for one second. To return to the first call, simply press the flash button again.
