How is the IOI competition scored?
The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is an annual programming competition for secondary school students around the world. It is a prestigious event for competitive programmers, and it attracts participants from over 80 countries.
The IOI is scored using a point system, where each problem has a predetermined number of points. Each participant is given a certain amount of time to solve as many problems as possible, usually five hours. The participant's score is the sum of the points earned for each solved problem.
If two or more participants have the same total score, the tie is broken based on the time taken to solve the problems. The participant who solves the most problems in the least amount of time is ranked higher. If the tie still exists, the time penalty of the problems solved is taken into account.
