What are the Nazgul?
The Nazgul, also known as the Ringwraiths, were once mortal men who were corrupted by Sauron, the Dark Lord of Mordor, through the power of the Rings of Power. They became his most feared and deadly servants, hunting down and killing anyone who dared to oppose him.
The Nazgul were initially nine in number, but after the events of The Lord of the Rings, they were destroyed along with the One Ring. Each Nazgul was a master of stealth and could become invisible to the naked eye, except for when they wore their black robes. They rode on black horses or flying beasts called Fellbeasts, which were bred by Sauron himself. The Nazgul were also skilled swordsmen and wielded swords that were imbued with dark magic.
The Nazgul played a significant role in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, serving as the primary antagonists and posing a constant threat to the Fellowship of the Ring. They were depicted as being nearly invincible, immune to most forms of physical harm, and only vulnerable to weapons that were made from special materials or blessed with special powers.
Overall, the Nazgul are some of the most iconic and memorable characters from J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, and they continue to capture the imaginations of fans around the world.
