What is the baggage allowance for the Amtrak Vermonter?
The Amtrak Vermonter allows passengers to bring up to two carry-on bags and four checked bags, with certain restrictions and fees.
Carry-on bags must not exceed 28 x 22 x 14 inches in size and must weigh no more than 50 pounds each. Passengers are responsible for carrying their own bags on and off the train and storing them in overhead compartments or under their seat.
Checked bags must not exceed 75 linear inches (length + width + height) in size and must weigh no more than 50 pounds each. There is a fee for checked bags, and additional fees may apply for oversized or overweight bags. Passengers can check their bags at the station or at a baggage service office, and they will be delivered to their destination station for pickup.
It's important to note that certain items are prohibited from both carry-on and checked bags, such as hazardous materials and firearms. Passengers should also take care to label their bags with their name, address, and contact information in case of loss or mishandling.
