What is the current state of Hispanic representation in the US government?

Hispanic representation in the US government has been a topic of discussion for many years. Currently, there are 43 Hispanic members of Congress, which represents about 8% of the total number of seats in Congress. In terms of representation in the executive branch, there have been several Hispanic cabinet secretaries throughout US history, including the current Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.
