A hybrid car combines an internal combustion engine with an electric motor, providing better fuel efficiency than a traditional gasoline-powered car. The electric motor is powered by a battery that is charged by the engine and through regenerative braking. The battery is not plugged in, but is charged while the car is being driven. On the other hand, a plug-in hybrid has a larger battery pack that can be charged by plugging it into an external power source. This larger battery allows for longer all-electric driving range, usually between 20-50 miles, after which the car switches to hybrid mode, using the gasoline engine and electric motor to power the vehicle. Plug-in hybrids are more fuel-efficient than traditional hybrids and can save money on fuel costs.
