What is the physical appearance of an Arabian Oryx?
The Arabian Oryx is a medium-sized antelope with a distinctive white coat and long, straight horns. They have a compact body, a short mane, and a tufted tail. Their white coat helps them to reflect sunlight and keep cool in their arid desert environment. Adult males can grow up to 1.2 meters at the shoulder and weigh between 70 to 100 kg, while females are slightly smaller.
Arabian Oryx have long, slender horns that can reach up to 75 cm in length, which are used for defense and for establishing dominance during mating season. The horns are narrow, almost straight, and can be lethal to predators such as wolves and hyenas. Oryx have also been known to use their horns to dig for water and vegetation in the desert.
