The world's largest type of squid is the giant squid (Architeuthis dux), which can grow up to 43 feet (13 meters) long and weigh up to 600 pounds (275 kilograms). These massive creatures are found in all of the world's oceans, but are rarely seen by humans due to their deep-sea habitat and elusive nature.
