The Arabian Oryx, also known as the white oryx, is a medium-sized antelope that is native to the Arabian Peninsula. Historically, they could be found across the entire region, but their numbers began to decline in the early 20th century due to overhunting and habitat loss.

Thanks to conservation efforts, the Arabian Oryx has made a remarkable comeback from near-extinction. Today, they can be found in the wild in several protected areas across the Arabian Peninsula, including:

  • The Mahazat as-Sayd Protected Area in Saudi Arabia
  • The Omani Wildlife Sanctuary in Oman
  • The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve in the United Arab Emirates
  • The Al Ain Zoo in the United Arab Emirates (which has a breeding program for the Arabian Oryx)

If you're interested in seeing Arabian Oryx in the wild, it's important to do so responsibly. Make sure to follow all park regulations and guidelines to help protect these beautiful animals and their habitats.
