Who is Gimli?
Gimli is a fictional character from J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth universe. He is a dwarf, and a member of the Fellowship of the Ring, the group of nine individuals who set out to destroy the One Ring and defeat the dark lord Sauron.
Gimli is portrayed as a fierce warrior with a deep loyalty to his friends, especially the elf Legolas, with whom he shares a contentious yet respectful relationship. Gimli is also known for his love of battle and his skill with an axe. He is often depicted as stubborn and proud, but also brave and honorable.
Gimli first appears in Tolkien's novel 'The Fellowship of the Ring,' and subsequently appears in 'The Two Towers' and 'The Return of the King.' He has also been portrayed in various adaptations of the 'Lord of the Rings' series, including the acclaimed film trilogy directed by Peter Jackson.
