Who is the Rani, and how is she connected to the Time Lords?
The Rani is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. She is a Time Lord, like the Doctor, and was introduced in the classic series in the 1980s. The Rani is known for her intelligence and scientific knowledge, which she often uses for her own purposes, often in opposition to the Doctor.
The Rani was originally from Gallifrey, the homeworld of the Time Lords, and was a contemporary of the Doctor. She was exiled from Gallifrey for her unethical experiments on her own people, and became a rogue Time Lord, travelling through time and space in her own TARDIS. The Rani is one of the Doctor's oldest and most dangerous enemies, and has appeared in several episodes of Doctor Who over the years.
