Who was Tuthmosis IV and what was his impact on ancient Egyptian history?

Tuthmosis IV was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who ruled during the 18th Dynasty. He was the eighth pharaoh of the dynasty and the son of Amenhotep II. Tuthmosis IV's reign is believed to have lasted from 1401 to 1391 BC.

Tuthmosis IV's impact on ancient Egyptian history is most notable for his Dream Stele, which is located between the paws of the Great Sphinx of Giza. The stele recounts a dream Tuthmosis IV had as a young prince, in which the Sphinx promised him the throne if he cleared away the sand that was covering it. Tuthmosis IV went on to become pharaoh and fulfilled the Sphinx's prophecy, by clearing the sand from around the statue.

During his reign, Tuthmosis IV also commissioned several building projects, including the restoration of the Sphinx and the construction of several temples. He also engaged in military campaigns against the Nubians and the Mitanni.
