Julius Caesar is considered one of the greatest military leaders in history, having conquered much of Gaul (modern-day France) and extended the Roman Empire's reach to Britain. Mark Antony was a general and politician who served under Julius Caesar and later fought against Octavian (later known as Emperor Augustus) in the Roman civil wars. Scipio Africanus, also known as Scipio the Elder, was a Roman general who defeated the Carthaginians in the Second Punic War and brought an end to the Carthaginian Empire. Trajan was a Roman emperor who led successful military campaigns in Dacia (modern-day Romania) and Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq).
