Can't we just vote for someone who promises to lower taxes?

Voting for a candidate based solely on their promise to lower taxes is not always the best approach. While lower taxes may seem appealing in the short term, it's important to consider the potential consequences of such a policy. For example, if taxes are lowered without a corresponding decrease in government spending, the resulting budget deficit can lead to inflation and a weakened economy in the long run.

Furthermore, tax cuts tend to disproportionately benefit the wealthy, and may not actually benefit the middle and lower classes. It's important to consider how tax policies affect all members of society, not just a select few.

When evaluating political candidates, it's important to consider their platform as a whole, not just a single issue. This includes their positions on other important issues such as healthcare, education, and the environment, as well as their record and experience. By considering all of these factors, voters can make informed decisions that take into account the complexities of government policy.
