To use the IRR (Internal Rate of Return) function in Excel, you need to follow the steps below:

  1. Enter the cash flow values into a single column or row in an Excel worksheet.
  2. Click the cell where you want to display the IRR result.
  3. Click the Formulas tab and select the Financial category.
  4. Click on the IRR function to open the Function Arguments dialog box.
  5. Select the cell range containing the cash flows in the Values field.
  6. Optionally, enter a guess for the IRR value in the Guess field.
  7. Click OK to close the Function Arguments dialog box and calculate the IRR value.
