How do you calculate the mean, median, and mode of a data set?
To calculate the mean of a data set, you add up all of the values in the set and divide by the total number of values. The mean is also known as the average.
To calculate the median of a data set, you first need to order the values from lowest to highest. If there is an odd number of values in the set, the median is the middle value. If there is an even number of values, the median is the average of the two middle values.
To calculate the mode of a data set, you identify the value or values that appear most frequently. If all values appear with the same frequency, the data set has no mode.
