An electric car is powered by an electric motor that runs on energy stored in a battery pack. In addition to the motor and battery pack, there are several other key components that make up an electric car's drivetrain:

• Power electronics: This component manages the flow of electricity between the battery pack and the motor, and controls the car's acceleration and deceleration. It also converts DC power from the battery pack to AC power for the motor.
• Charger: An electric car must be plugged in to charge its battery pack, and the charger converts AC power from the electrical grid to DC power that can be stored in the battery pack.
