What is the baggage policy for the Amtrak Auto Train?
The Amtrak Auto Train is a convenient way to transport both you and your car between the Washington D.C. area and Orlando, Florida. When it comes to baggage, the Auto Train allows passengers to bring two personal items, such as a purse or backpack, and two carry-on bags, each of which can weigh up to 25 pounds and measure up to 28 x 22 x 11 inches. Additionally, passengers can bring up to four pieces of checked luggage, with each bag weighing up to 50 pounds and measuring up to 36 x 36 x 36 inches. Oversized items, such as bikes or surfboards, can also be transported for an additional fee.
It's important to note that any items checked on the Auto Train must be claimed upon arrival at your destination. Amtrak does not offer the option to check bags to your final destination or transfer luggage to other trains or airlines.
