The letter 'Q' does not appear in any of the 50 U.S. state names. The states with the most letters in their names are Massachusetts and North Carolina, both of which have 13 letters. The states with the least number of letters are Alaska, Idaho, Iowa, Ohio, and Utah, all of which have only four letters in their names.
