The Fisherman and the Jinni is a tale from the Arabian Nights, a collection of Middle Eastern and South Asian stories and folk tales. The story follows a poor fisherman who discovers a magical jinni in a bottle, who has been trapped there for centuries. The jinni promises to reward the fisherman with great wealth in exchange for his release. However, the fisherman is skeptical of the jinni's promise and tricks him into returning to the bottle.
The jinni is furious and threatens to kill the fisherman, but he begs for mercy and tells the jinni another story of a prince and a merchant, convincing him to return to the bottle once again.
