Which animal can see the most colors?
Of all the animals in the world, the mantis shrimp has the most complex color vision known to science. They have 16 photoreceptor cells in their eyes, compared to the three that humans have. These cells allow the mantis shrimp to see a spectrum of colors that humans cannot even imagine, including ultraviolet and infrared light. In addition to seeing colors that humans can't, they can also see polarized light and process visual information at an incredibly fast rate. Their eyes are also able to move independently of each other, giving them an exceptional field of vision.
