Who is Gollum?
Gollum is a fictional character created by J.R.R. Tolkien and appearing in his famous novel 'The Lord of the Rings.' Originally known as Sméagol, Gollum was a Stoor hobbit who lived near the banks of the Great River Anduin.
After discovering the One Ring, which was lost for centuries, he became obsessed with it and was driven to madness and despair. He was banished by his people and lived alone in the Misty Mountains for centuries. In 'The Lord of the Rings,' Gollum becomes a pivotal character in the plot, as he leads Frodo and Sam to Mount Doom to destroy the Ring, but also desires to possess it for himself.
Gollum is known for his split personality, his love-hate relationship with the Ring, and his distinctive voice, which was brought to life in the movies through motion-capture and the voice acting of Andy Serkis.
