What is the wildlife of the Sahara?

The Sahara Desert is known for its unforgiving landscape of sand dunes, rocky outcrops, and scorching temperatures. Despite these harsh conditions, the Sahara is home to a surprisingly diverse array of wildlife, including mammals, reptiles, birds, and plants.

One of the most iconic animals of the Sahara is the camel, which is perfectly adapted to survive in this arid environment. Other mammals found in the Sahara include gazelles, hyenas, desert foxes, and jerboas (small jumping rodents). Reptiles are also well represented, with a variety of lizards, snakes, and tortoises making their homes in the desert.
