Humans have two sets of teeth, primary and permanent, also known as baby and adult teeth respectively. The primary teeth, also known as milk or deciduous teeth, generally fall out between the ages of six and twelve years old, and the new permanent teeth grow in their place. The adult teeth are a complete set of 32 teeth, which includes four wisdom teeth.

The process of losing primary teeth and replacing them with permanent teeth is called exfoliation. The baby teeth start to loosen and fall out due to the growth of the permanent teeth underneath. The permanent teeth start to grow at the age of six, with the first molars coming in at the back of the mouth, and the last molars, the wisdom teeth, are usually fully visible and functioning by the age of 25.

It is important to maintain good dental hygiene and regularly visit the dentist to ensure that both sets of teeth remain healthy.
